Chelsea has always had an interest for science and wellness which led her to receive a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She spent her initial 15 years working in the Intensive Care Unit, and recently moved to work in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit. During this time, through her own curiosities in the body and mind connection, she started learning more on these topics. She received her Yoga Nidra certification in October of 2018, through Traditional Yoga Studies, and she also received additional meditation training that same year. Since then she has led small group women’s retreats, building connection and creating collective healing.

In 2020, as the world turned upside, her work life reached its peak state of stressfulness causing lasting effects to her wellbeing. During this time she started doing deeper work on her health through variety of modalities (western physicians, functional medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as staying active, meditating, getting rest, time in nature and so much more), but nothing made a significant change.

After hearing more about somatic work, Chelsea became interested in learning more about it. She participated in a variety of somatic modalities including practices that were mostly physical, and others that were more of a mind body combination, seeing practitioners within Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica and the USA. She felt there was really something to this work, and wanted to learn more. She looked into a variety of trainings, and decided to take a leap of faith and get her certification in ROOTED.

With now being a certified ROOTED practitioner, Chelsea’s goal continues to be working on and learning more about her own nervous system and overall health, but also to be able to make a difference to those around her. She is passionate about working with Frontline Worker, as these individuals face traumatic events daily on the job, including ethical and moral dilemmas, and often don’t have outlets or resources to process what they are going through. She personally knows many heath care providers, besides herself, who have experienced or are currently experiencing symptoms of burnout, and with the current state of healthcare she knows this will undoubtedly be an ongoing issue.

Chelsea has just registered for ROOTED level 2, to enhance her knowledge and skill base to be more well equipped to reach her clients needs.
